Environmental Microbiology & Biotechnology

The main focus of our research projects is on organismic functional and physiological microbiology. Special emphasis is placed on the microbial abilities in natural environments such as soil or air. Within this frame, metal-microbe interactions as well as diversity of airborne microorganisms are of particular interest. Some results might find practical biotechnological applications.
